Child Safety Standards & CSAM Prevention Policy

If you encounter child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that exploits or endangers a child
on SaloneNest, report it immediately:
1. Our Commitment
SaloneNest LLC is a West Africa-focused home and marketplace platform. We are unequivocally committed to
the safety and protection of children. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse
material (CSAM), child exploitation, grooming, trafficking, or any content that endangers minors โ
in any form, on any part of our platform, including property listings, marketplace posts, community
updates, and in-app messages.
We comply fully with applicable laws including the PROTECT Our Children Act, the
Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the UK Online Safety Act,
and all applicable child protection laws in West African countries served by the platform.
2. Age Restrictions
SaloneNest is intended exclusively for users who are 18 years of age or older. The
platform is not directed at, designed for, or intended to be used by children under 18. We do not
knowingly collect personal information from minors.
During account registration (via the Profile tab), users must confirm they are 18 or older. If we
become aware that a user is under 18, their account is immediately suspended and their data deleted
in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
3. Prohibited Content โ Zero Tolerance
The following content is strictly prohibited on SaloneNest โ on any tab, listing, post, message, or
media upload โ and will result in immediate account termination and reporting to authorities:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind
- Sexual content involving or targeting minors
- Grooming behaviour toward minors through messages or community posts
- Content that facilitates child trafficking, exploitation, or abuse
- Solicitation of minors for any purpose via property listings, marketplace posts, or direct messages
- Sharing personal information of minors without verified parental consent
- Using property listings or rental offers to facilitate abuse or trafficking of any person under 18
4. Platform Coverage โ Where This Policy Applies
This child safety policy applies to all features of the SaloneNest platform, including:
- Real Estate tab โ property listings, photos, and landlord/buyer communications
- Market tab (Marketplace / Public Square) โ goods and services listings, trader profiles, and buyer messages
- Post tab โ Community Posts, Property Listings submitted via the Post action sheet, and Marketplace Items
- Home tab โ dashboard feed and community post visibility
- Profile & Messages โ in-app direct messages between users, account identity data
- EJay AI Assistant โ EJay is designed to provide platform help only and will not engage with, generate, or facilitate any harmful content
5. Detection & Prevention Practices
- Content moderation: All user-generated content โ listings, images, community posts, messages โ is subject to review for policy violations.
- Reporting mechanisms: Every content item and user profile includes a "Report" function accessible to all users. Reports are reviewed promptly by our designated contact.
- Account suspension: Accounts flagged for child safety violations are immediately suspended pending investigation, with no warning issued prior to suspension.
- Law enforcement cooperation: We cooperate fully and immediately with law enforcement agencies in the USA and West African countries investigating child exploitation.
- NCMEC reporting: In compliance with 18 U.S.C. ยง 2258A, any apparent CSAM discovered on our platform is reported immediately to the NCMEC CyberTipline.
- Data preservation: Upon receiving a valid legal request, we preserve relevant account data, messages, and media for law enforcement use.
- KYC verification: Government-issued ID verification is required for Seller Hub (landlord and marketplace seller) accounts, helping confirm adult identity before listing property or goods.
6. Platform Safeguards
- Registration via the Profile tab requires users to confirm they are 18 or older before creating an account
- KYC identity verification (government-issued ID + facial match) is required for Seller Hub accounts and marketplace trader badges
- Payment verification for rent and marketplace transactions provides an additional adult identity signal
- Community posts, property listings, and marketplace items are visible to moderators for policy compliance review
- Media uploaded to listings (photos, documents) is screened for policy violations before publication
- The EJay AI assistant is scoped to platform help only and is not designed to engage in personal conversations, relationship building, or any content that could be used for grooming
7. Staff Training & Awareness
Our designated child safety point of contact (Eric J. Musa, CEO) is briefed on CSAM prevention
practices, mandatory reporting obligations under US law, and escalation procedures. They are prepared
to engage with Google Play, the Apple App Store, regulatory authorities in West African countries,
and international child protection organisations on matters relating to child safety compliance at
any time.
8. How to Report a Violation
If you encounter any content or behaviour on SaloneNest that endangers or exploits a child:
- Email us immediately at childsafety@salonenest.com
- Include as much detail as possible: screenshot, listing or post URL, username, date and time of the content
- We will acknowledge your report within 24 hours
- Where required by law, we will escalate the report to NCMEC, local law enforcement, or relevant West African authorities immediately
9. Updates to This Policy
This policy is reviewed at least annually and updated as needed to reflect changes in law, platform
features, or industry best practices. Material changes will be communicated to users via in-app
notification and by updating the effective date above.
